Mobile and Virtual Complementary Therapies

in Caterham and the surrounding areas

Please be reassured that following changes on July 19th I am continuing to follow government guidelines and best practice procedures for working in a Covid-secure way to ensure the safety of all my clients and also myself. I will be pre-screening all clients for Covid 19 symptoms on the day prior to their appointment as well as on the day itself and do respectfully ask that clients wear a face covering and ventilate the room during our appointment in order that I may maximise protection for those of my clients who are clinically extremely vulnerable. I am using lateral flow tests on myself twice weekly and am fully vaccinated. After you have had your Covid vaccination (either first or second), please allow 7 (and preferably 14) days before booking your appointment. This has been advised by the NHS and industry associations to allow for any potential side effects to subside.

I am a Mobile Complementary Therapist, Massage Therapist and Reflexologist, working within an 8 mile radius of my home in Caterham, Surrey, taking in areas such as Caterham, Old Coulsdon, Purley, Redhill, Reigate, Godstone, Warlingham and Woldingham.(click here for full list of areas I cover).

Your treatments take place within the peace and comfort of your own home, enabling you to enjoy the feeling of relaxation and wellbeing and allowing you to rest afterwards, giving you the chance to enjoy all the benefits of the therapy. As I bring everything I need with me, all you need to do is enjoy the relaxation... with no need for you to drive home afterwards! Every treatment is tailored to you as an individual and within the context of your own lifestyle and health - I will always consult with you beforehand to allow me to help address any changes in either.

"Alison will always vary my massage depending on how I am feeling on the day. As I have various health issues, she is always keen to speak to me beforehand to ask how I am feeling and to ascertain where my massage should be focused. This benefits me physically and psychologically, lifting my mood!"
Denise (Purley)

What is Complementary Therapy?

Complementary Therapy is not an alternative to medical advice, and as a Complementary Therapist I will always work alongside any advice given to you by your medical practitioner. Treatments are holistic, which means that the "whole person" is treated i.e. mind body and spirit. It is said that 75% of patients visiting their GP surgery are suffering with stress or stress-related illnesses, and so there is great benefit to be gained by pursuing deep relaxation in the form of therapies such as Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Reiki. As your body relaxes, it is able to rebalance and heal, and so often many conditions may improve. But each individual person will experience their own benefits, as we are all individual! A full consultation is an integral part of any initial treatment, to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you, and also that it is tailored specifically for you. I would never diagnose or claim to cure, and will always refer you to your GP if appropriate.

"Alison has been my Reflexologist and Massage Therapist for 9 years and she puts me at ease as soon as she arrives. Her professionalism is outstanding and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to feel a better sense of wellbeing."
Kim (Reigate)

About Me

My interest in Complementary Therapies began around 2001, after studying for a couple of beauty qualifications whilst working in a different field. Since then, I have achieved professional qualifications in many different Complementary Therapies, and have not stopped learning since!

Fully qualified in Holistic Reflexology, Massage and Indian Head Massage, I am also a Reiki Master. I have pursued further qualifications in many areas including Advanced Reflexology techniques and pre-conceptual care for couples about to start trying for a family, Fertility and Maternity Reflexology and Pregnancy Massage and Crystal Reflexology. I also have Level 2 qualifications in Nutrition and Health, Counselling Skills and recently completed the MASCED Accredited Programme, designed for therapists, which aims to significantly raise awareness of changes on the skin to promote the early detection of melanoma, to improve prognosis and ultimately save lives.

I am a fully qualified teacher and Assessor with QTLS status and for 5 years I taught the ITEC Reflexology Diploma, the ITEC Massage Diploma and ITEC and City and Guilds Indian Head Massage Diploma at Sutton College (all accredited professional courses). I also taught many workshops including Fertility and Maternity Reflexology, Hand Reflexology, Relaxation and Stress Reduction techniques.

I have considerable experience providing therapies for the elderly as well as those with various health conditions such as dementia and also for those receiving palliative care. I also regularly provide massage and reflexology for adults with autism and learning disabilities as well as providing Wellbeing Therapies for corporate clients.

As a fully qualified Reflexologist I have been a member of The Association of Reflexologists and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council for many years and am fully insured for all my therapies with The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC).
